The question extends beyond whether data transferred: can staff use opening inventory in the required operation and explain subsequent changes? It requires an owner-approved opening reference and a test environment isolated from live quantities.

A lot identifier is different from assigned quantity

Review units, location labels and item references that staff understand. Repeatedly asking the implementer where inventory resides may expose configuration, documentation or training gaps. Name each gap and its owner instead of labeling everything a migration problem.
Separate correction decisions
If a case fails, distinguish incorrect opening values, lot/location relationships, process configuration and role access. These may have different owners and retest requirements. Preserve correction references, data versions and repeated cases instead of quietly altering the reference source until figures agree.
